The Society is pleased to announce the results of its recent elections for the Executive Committee that will start its service to the IPPS from 1 August 2024:
- Prof. dr. Jonne Rodenburg (Wageningen University, the Netherlands), served the IPPS as Vice-president during the past 4 years and will now be its President
- Prof. dr. Airong Li (Kunming Institute of Botany, China), served the IPPS as Secretary during the past 4 years, and will continue as its new elected Vice-president
- Dr. Muhammad Jamil (KAUST, Saudi Arabia), will be Secretary
- Prof. Dr. Harro Bouwmeester (University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands), served the IPPS as President during the past 4 years, and will continue as its Editor
- Dr. Damaris Odeny (ICRISAT, Kenya), will be Member at Large
- Dr. Thomas Spallek (Georg August University, Germany ), will be Member at Large
The position for Treasurer was not up for election, and Prof. dr. Renate Wesselingh (University of Louvain, Belgium) will continue her service to the IPPS in that capacity.
As the new EC members take up their work for the next four years, the Society would like to thank three of its former Executive Committee members for their outstanding service and engagement with the IPPS:
- Prof. dr. Susann Wicke (University of Munster, Germany), who served as Editor
- Dr. Luiza Teixeira-Costa (Free University of Brussel, Belgium), who served as Member at Large (and will continue her contribution until the next issue of Haustorium)
- Prof. dr. Pradeepa Bandaranayake (University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka), who served as Member at Large
